Congratulations to Margie Harner!
2017 NAIFA-Jacksonville Community Service Award Recipient
Margie joined NAIFA in 1997. She has been with State Farm for nearly 35 years. She served as the NAIFA-Jacksonville President during 2015-2016 and is serving as our National Committeeperson. We are grateful for her dedication and support to this industry as well as her clients.
As if that is not enough, she continues to serve as our IFAPIC Chair, recently attended Day on the Hill in Tallahassee and continues to encourage young advisors to get involved.
She will tell you that teamwork is the overwhelming story in her office. She enjoys working with our professional organization. Many of the team members in her office are family members.
Margie serves on the Board of Directors of Athletes2Champions a local non-profit organization. Athletes2Champions' mission is to EQUIP communities with the resources necessary to assist athletic programs, INSPIRE coaches and leaders to become mentors of young athletes, and DEVELOP character in young athletes, encouraging them to share their God given talents. Athletes2Champions is a unique nonprofit organization that helps kids build character, learn discipline and value respect through sports. This is truly a grass roots organization that focuses on action instead of words.
Margie has one son, Grant.
About the NAIFA-Jacksonville Community Service Award
The Community Service Award was established in 1977 to recognize an individual who is active in the Association and has contributed his or her time and talents to organizations within the community. NAIFA-Jacksonville encourages everyone to give back something to the community in which they earn their livelihood.
The responsibility of chairing the nominations of the Community Service falls on the shoulders of the past recipient. Past recipients of the award are automatically elected to the committee.
The recipient of the prior year is also the presenter of the award to the current winner and the recipient for two years ago is responsible for holding the nominations for the next recipient. They generally meet in August and the Awards chairperson will need to follow up to make sure that this goes according to calendar.
There are no nominating forms or set procedures. The task is to identify the person in our industry who the committee feels deserves to be recognized for their outstanding work in our community. The award presentation takes place at the annual NAIFA-Jacksonville Awards Meeting. A presentation of an engraved silver bowl is presented at this time.
Congratulations to all of our Community Service Award recipients!
